Dr. Paul brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in international education, academic administration, and English as a Second Language program management to her role as Executive Director of the American Language Institute. She also serves as Executive Director of the USC International Academy. Prior to joining USC, she held senior leadership positions in the ESL sector, including at Kaplan International North America, Aspect College in Dublin, Ireland,  and other educational organizations across Europe.

Her academic background includes three master’s degrees—in Finance & Accounting, Sociology, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages—and a Doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California. Her research examines sociolinguistics, world Englishes, and leadership in multilingual educational contexts, with particular attention to the ways international educators draw on shared experiences with students to enhance learning and engagement.

Having lived and worked across four countries on two continents, Dr. Paul is committed to advancing academic excellence, fostering international student success, and promoting the mission of the American Language Institute.
