Pamela Yamamoto Ireland is the Director of Administration for USC American Language Institute and USC International Academy, the university’s non-credit English language department. She is responsible for overseeing financial operations, faculty administration, student services, housing contract negotiations, and facilities management of the Davidson Conference Center.
Since joining USC in 2003, Pam has served in a variety of roles, including teaching courses in writing, oral communication, grammar, and business English, and administering a literacy grant program. Prior to her time at USC, she taught English and managed self-access learning centers at a university in Tokyo, Japan, and held positions at an investment management firm in New York City as a licensed Series 7 and 63 representative.
Pam earned her M.A. in Second and Foreign Language Education with a concentration in TESOL from Soka University of America and her B.A. in Communication from Rutgers University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Organizational Change and Leadership at USC. A native of Queens, New York, and a fluent Japanese speaker, Pam is passionate about cross-cultural communication and international education.
